Meet Naya
Naya was the person friends turned to for encouragement comfort, and heartfelt prayers. An independent go-getter, her infectious smile radiated the spiritual beauty she held within. At 22, Naya wished the best for everyone around her. She cherished her family and adored her nephews, always striving to make a meaningful impact in her life.
Naya's educational journey began at Lincoln Elementary and continued through Hillside Middle School, culminating in her graduation from Kalamazoo Central High School. She went on to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice at Western Michigan University, driven by her passion for helping others. Her commitment to this goal is exemplified by her experience as a Direct Care Staff member in a Mental Health Behavioral Stabilization program, where she actively contributed to supporting individuals in need.
Naya also has always had a passion for cheerleading. She started her journey with Northside Rocket Football at just three years old and continued to shine throughout her junior year of school, participating in both competitive and sideline cheer. Dedication and talent earned her multiple awards and recognition.
Naya's spiritual journey began at the tender age of two when she dedicated her life to the Lord at New Life Fellowship Church of God in Christ. In 2006, her family became a part of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she joyfully participated in the Praise Dance ministry. In July 2018, Naya reaffirmed her faith by rededicating her life to Christ and was baptized alongside her brother, Christopher Reynolds, Jr.
Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she embarked on creative ventures, inspiring those around her. Above all the joy of witnessing her unwavering love and devotion to God and family was truly heartwarming.
It is our hope that Naya's memory and legacy will live on through this Family Memorial Scholarship, created to benefit young ladies like her!
